Just another stranger on the internet here to say, “Happy New Year!” to you today. I’ve never been one to set goals for the new year, let alone achieve any of the goals if I do. The goals I tend to set aim too high and don’t focus on the success achieved when working towards those goals. (i.e.: Back in 2019 I had a goal to qualify for the Boston Marathon. When I didn’t meet that goal I clocked it as a complete failure without recognizing that I had run my first ever marathon. In 2020, I went for it again and this time overtrained leading to an injury that…

My Favorite 2024 Gifts
Wow, what a year 2024 has been. And what a Christmas we had! Michael and I asked for a lot of practical gifts, but also gifts we knew would bring us joy. To no shock, there were a lot of clothing items on my wishlist. (Which is one of the reasons I did a huge closet clear out and let my youngest sister “shop” what I was getting rid of). Many of the items I asked for and received were things I was looking to replace or items that I’ve been on the hunt for for years and never pulled the trigger on. Hubby took notes and delivered. Or was…

Matching Holiday Pajamas for Couples
Around this time nine years ago, Michael and I first met. It’s hard to believe we’ve spent every Christmas together since. Sometimes it feels like forever, simply because (as my dad puts it) it’s like he’s always been there. And sometimes, it feels like no time has passed at all and we’re still just two kids home for the holidays. There’s a lot of holiday traditions that you get to participate in when two families come together. But it’s making those traditions your own and making new traditions that make the season really special. One tradition that my family has is a pajama brunch. When Michael and I first got…

DIY Bow Slippers for the Holidays
When I was a kid, I dreamed of being a fashion designer. I had a mini sewing machine and fun paper cutouts to make new outfits. That dream has since passed, but sometimes the spark comes back. Typically when I have a vision in my head for something and can’t find it anywhere. That’s the case with these bow slippers that I DIY’d for the holiday season. I’m obsessed with tartan this time of year. Whether it’s a dress, pjs, or a blouse, I want it all in my closet. When I purchased me and my husband matching pajamas for my parents holiday brunch, I knew immediately I wanted fun bow slippers…

2024 Early Black Friday Sales
It seems that Black Friday sales and Cyber Monday sales start earlier and earlier every year. While we’ve come to expect sales from department stores like Macy’s and Target, some of my favorite brands have gotten into Black Friday sales recently too. Brands like Lilly Pulitzer have typically been known to only have two sales a year, previously known as the After Party Sale and now known as the Sunshine Sale. With the usual and unusual suspects participating in sales this year, I wanted to round up my favorites. You’ll see that I’m sharing my most worn brands that I swear by for almost all occasions. From casual, to swim,…

DIY Disney Halloween Tennis Dress
For years I’ve been on the search for the perfect Halloween outfit for Disney World. Something that is both spooky, but also comfortable in the 90+ degree weather that Florida still experiences in fall. There’s no shortage of Disney Halloween clothes out there. Mickey ghost jeans and pumpkin Mickey sweaters are readily available this time of year. But as a Floridian, there’s no way I can comfortably wear these. Not unless I’m looking to give myself a heat stroke. So this year, I set out to make what I’ve always been looking for, a Disney Halloween tennis dress. Since I’ve purchased my first tennis dress, I’ve raved about how great…

Matching Fall Set from Favorite Daughters
I’ve had my eyes on this matching fall set available to rent from Nuuly since our Napa Valley trip back in May. While it would have been the perfect set to sip wine in, I thought it more appropriate to rent and wear in fall. Which is exactly what I did. There’s something about the plaid of this set that just screamed fall to me. And when the top came in stock in my size, it did not disappoint. Here’s my honest review of the set, in both size and comfort, as well as different ways you can style it. Both as a matching set, and individual pieces. Disclosure: Some…

My Nuuly Fall Picks
When it comes to fall in Florida, there’s only so much layering you can do. The fall items that always seem to catch my eye, are items that I can’t realistically wear in Florida during your “usual” fall months. However, I’ve had my eye on some Nuuly picks that I think I might just have to try for fall. While I may not get to wear them more than once, they’re pieces that just might work down South. As I’ve stated previously, renting clothes allows you to experiment with trends that you otherwise wouldn’t. I use Nuuly to the fullest in that sense, and that typically comes around fall. Since…

Blythe Bow Dress by Hill House
Just when you think Hill House has made all the silhouettes your heart desires, they drop the ultimate bow dress. Nell Diamond has been teasing the Blythe Bow Dress for months, and when Hill House did an exclusive sample drop, I pounced on the opportunity. I will say, I was worried as it’s been labeled as an “ultra mini” dress and I’ve been more into midis and maxis as of late. However, I own three other mini dresses from Hill House and they have been the perfect length. So while it was a gamble on just how mini the Blythe Bow Dress would be, it was a risk I was…
