I bought this black turtleneck to expand my fall and winter wardrobe basics. It was only $12 from Target, so how could I not? When I bought this black turtleneck I wasn’t intending on wearing it more than a few times. But Florida threw a curve ball. While 2020 was one of the hottest years on record for Florida (so the internet claims) 2021 has certainly not been as hot. On top of it, this turtleneck is what has been deemed a “tissue turtleneck”. Meaning it’s much lighter than a traditional turtleneck. In fact, it’s so thin it’s almost sheer. So even on the not so cold days it’s been great.

3 Ways to Style a Black Turtleneck
With so much wear, it was only a matter of time until I figured out how to style this turtleneck. I’m extremely glad I went with black and not another color. Black goes with everything after all and is a great color for fall and winter. Here are three ways that I have loved styling this top so far!
Jeans & Blazer
It doesn’t get more simple than a black turtleneck, a blazer, and some jeans. Though it’s simple, it’s still a classic and put together outfit. I feel like I should be sipping coffee in Paris in this outfit (but I’d switch the headband for a beret then of course). It also makes a great casual Friday outfit for work.
Black Turtleneck with Skirt & Beret
This outfit is easy and effortless, which is exactly what I’m looking for on cooler days. You can easily layer a long coat over this outfit to make it extra warm.
Plaid to See You Again
Clearly black turtlenecks and plaid just go together. I picked up this plaid romper from Forever 21 recently and thought it would look great layered with any mock or turtleneck this season. Even with white it would look great. I’m looking forward to styling this plaid romper a few different ways the rest of the year. And obviously the turtleneck too.
