Blue Chambray Shirt & Ruffle Midi Skirt

I’ve been really slacking in my separates lately. I bought all these new skirts and tops this year yet, I still find myself going right back to my tried and true dresses. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to rush out the door to get to work, but I’ve seriously not been putting much though into my work outfits. If I start planning my outfits the night before it might be super helpful. Now I did not plan this blue chambray shirt and midi skirt outfit beforehand, but it sure did turn out well! Certainly a lot better than I was thinking. I even got to put my new hydrangea Keds to good use since I wore this outfit on a Friday. (Yes, wearing sneakers with a skirt and button down does make it casual. In case you were wondering). Can you believe the last time I wore this blue chambray shirt was this past fall?! Needless to say, it’s been awhile. But clearly I like to pair it with warm colors like pink and orange.

A Shirt for All Seasons

Based on the fact that I last wore this blue chambray shirt in fall I’d say it’s a pretty versatile top to have in your closet. When I lived up north I loved to layer it under a blazer in fall and a sweater in winter. Don’t ask me why I chose not to wear it in Florida during winter but I didn’t. I guess I wasn’t much in a layering mood. Because a chambray shirt is so classic it’s readily available at a ton of stores. My favorite place to find an affordable one is Old Navy. (Where this shirt was actually originally from. But I found mine at the thrift shop). But odds are you can find them at most stores you shop at already.
