Button Up Dressed Down

The button up is a wardrobe staple for everyone. One of my favorite things about a button up shirt is how many ways you can style it. Whether it’s summer, winter, fall, or spring the button up has you covered. It can easily be added under a sweater for a layered winter look, paired with jeans and a scarf for fall, and my personal favorite (because I’m a Florida girl), worn with a skirt or shorts for the summer and spring. The possibilities are endless.

When I was boarding the cruise a couple weeks ago, I wanted an outfit that was relaxed, but not to the extent where I was wearing my bikini. So I threw on a skort, buttoned up my shirt, and tied the shirt tails into what I call a “sailors knot”. While I debated pairing this outfit with sandals I voted against it and wore my Keds instead. They are just as comfortable as any sandals I could’ve worn but it was also a smart packing decision, as sneakers would take up the most room in my suitcase compared to a pair of sandals. For me wearing my sneakers was not only comfort smart, but packing smart as well. Not to mention, the white Keds made me feel a little more like a sailor, which was perfect for set sail day.
