Casual Friday’s

Ah Fridays. A day to finally unwind and relax into the coming weekend. For most people at my office this means pulling out the jeans and sweating in them because it’s 90 degrees or hotter. For me it just means, my skirt gets a little shorter. Don’t get me wrong, I love jeans but, me + jeans + summer heat and humidity = grumpy and uncomfortable. I try not to stray too far from casual “jean” Friday though, so I have casual jean skirt Friday…

Jean skirts have made a huge comeback recently and I am not complaining. I’ve been rocking a denim skirt for who knows how long, probably since birth. I’d share a picture of my 7th grade yearbook picture of me owning a denim skirt but yearbook pictures are unfortunately only from the shoulders up. Whether you’re rocking the comeback of the button down denim skirt (as seen here, so retro!) or just pulling out that denim skirt you could never let go of (good for you, you trendsetter!) the denim skirt is a great staple for any casual summer wardrobe.

Outfit Details

I grabbed this skirt from my local Goodwill and it was a total steal as it’s from this years BDG collection at Urban Outfitters. I’ve linked the original skirt but if you’re looking for a denim skirt I would definitely check out your local Goodwill to see what you can find (who knows, you might just find a total gem like I did!) This top is Lilly Pulitzer but I got it at Plato’s Closet (another great place to shop for a deal!). I also hit a local resale place called Gator Lilly’s in College Park. They buy and sell a ton of Lilly Pulitzer. If you’re ever in the Orlando area I would highly recommend visiting them even if it’s just to see how cute it is!
