Calling all red and pink lovers! Your season is upon us as Valentine’s Day fast approaches. The isles are stocked with candy of the pink and red variety. Hearts can be found on most everything. And a lot of us are left wondering why exactly we can’t continue this theme of love all year round.
Then there’s the flip side: Calling lovers of all things black! I fall on this side of the spectrum too sometimes. Pink is a color that I fall in and out of love with, but black is a constant in my life. Black jeans, black skirts, little black dresses. It’s the go to, all consuming, color for fashion. There’s nothing black can’t go with (ok, except navy). So when Valentine’s day comes around, I understand if you don’t go all out with the pink and red.
Which is why I’m bringing you this casual Valentine’s Day outfit. It’s casual in two ways. One, it’s casual in the sense that it’s a pair of jeans and a sweater. If you’re like me, this is way casual. And two, it downplays the Valentine’s theme, keeping it to just the addition of a few (super cute and adorable) accessories.
Truth be told, this is labeled a “child’s purse”. I just don’t think it’s fair that all the small novelty purses are reserved for children. So you know what I did? I marched right on over to the kids section in Target and searched my little heart out to find this bag. It’s the perfect size when it comes to fitting all your basics. More so than that, it’s the perfect price. If this were labeled for adults there would be a price increase of at least $15. For those of you looking for a less novelty purse, I’ve linked a few “grown up” heart bags below as well. As much as I would love every heart shaped bag Kate Spade has ever put out, it’s just not in the accounting books for me. One day I’ll find one where the price is right, but right now $200+ dollars just isn’t cutting it.
