I was introduced to Colorstreet by a friends mom and then by my friends sister and then by my friend. I joke that it’s “just another pyramid scheme” like Mary Kay and Pampered Chef. (Though it should be noted those are illegal so don’t worry it’s not really a pyramid scheme). But just like Mary Kay and Pampered Chef, Colorstreet uses personal connections to help make sales. It’s a tried and true business model, no matter how shady it might seem to some people. But enough about that. The point is, I fell in love with Colorstreet. I didn’t think that I would, and I was hoping that I wouldn’t (hello, I need to save money). But here we are. I wanted to give an honest review of Colorstreet as well as some factors to consider before getting your first set or sample. Because once you get that one it’s undeniably all down hill from there.
My Nail Story
I remember a time I used to paint my nails fairly often. Back in high school at my best friends coffee table on any given weekend. It was an activity to do while watching tv or listening to music with no care in the world. When I went to college my roommate and I would paint our nails pretty often too. She had tons of colors and who was I to deny my nails something fun? After my first year in college is when nail polish went south for me. I was an art major and I was in my drawing class when it happened. I remember having painted my nails red, a usual choice for me. As I’m drawing and erasing, and brushing my shavings off the paper my nails graced the page…and so did a red streak. This happened a few more times throughout the semester with different nail colors before I finally swore off nail polish. I haven’t looked back since 2014 until Colorstreet.
My Honest Colorstreet Review
I finally tried Colorstreet for the first time back in March. I had some samples that matched a nail polish color that I had so if I messed up, I could use it. After applying it I couldn’t get over how I could do everything. I stuck my hand in a bag of chips – no smudge. Typed on my computer, no cracks. I brushed my hand across paper – no streak. Where was this stuff when I was in college?
But seriously – here are the things I love about Colorstreet:
- No Dry Time – That means you can start doing dishes immediately after you’ve done your nails.
- Real Nail Polish – Everyone describes these as stickers, which I suppose they are. But they’re made of real nail polish & you can tell because they have that nail polish smell.
- Because it’s real nail polish you can use normal nail polish remover. HUGE DEAL for me!
- Long Lasting – As I type I’ve had my current pair of Colorstreet on for a week and they still look brand new. If anything, I notice my nails growing more than any wear to the polish!
- Fun Patterns & Colors – What made me buy my first Buy 3 Get 1? The flamingo nails.
- Cheaper than a Manicure – Most sets are under $15 and you can get at least 2 sets of nails out of them.
Things to Consider Before Trying Colorstreet
Now I admit, Colorstreet might not be for everyone. I’ve loved rediscovering my love for nail polish through them but consider these few things:
- If you enjoy being pampered and going to get your nails done every month this is probably not for you. There’s no hand massage included with your nail set. LOL
- Limited Selection – Colorstreet has a great variety of colors, patterns, and glitters to choose from and they’re always changing and adding new ones. However, there’s still a more limited selection than going to your local Target for nail polish colors. Personally, I have a few colors that I like to wear with the occasional fun pattern so I have no complaints.
