I’m so excited for this post because a denim dress has been on my wish list for awhile. I finally took the plunge while shopping with my sisters for back to school clothes. It just so happened that it was on clearance so it was a win win. The only downside to shopping right now is a lot of places aren’t letting you try on. Which isn’t a huge deal…unless it’s on clearance because of most sale return policies. Luckily I’m a pro at slipping stuff over my clothes to try on so I got the correct size. Anyways, I wanted to share how I styled it in summer vs. how I’m styling it now for fall.

Denim Dress in Summer
Denim is a pretty thick fabric. Therefore it can be a little stuffy in summer. However, this dress has all the right elements to make it work for summer. It doesn’t have sleeves and is mini. This makes it work really well for summer. I paired it with some sandals and a fun crossbody to make it a complete look for summer. The button front could also make this dress work as a cover up or a great going out dress.

Styling for Fall
I should say this, I don’t think a denim dress really needs to be styled differently for fall. Denim is already a fabric that I think of when it comes to fall and winter. However, it’s fun to change it up and add some layers. I decided to layer a spring dress with a ditsy floral print on it underneath. I really like how light it looks but still feels fall because of the layering. Puff sleeves have really been in this year so any top with puff sleeves would also look great under this denim dress. Of course, you can always go with the classic tee underneath or jacket over it too.
