DIY Designer Shoes for the Holidays

I have been craving everything plaid, tartan and bows since well before Thanksgiving. J. Crew, Ann Taylor, Loft, and so many other brands are just killing the holiday shoe game this year. But this girl is on a budget and can’t splurge $100+ for holiday shoes. So I started doing some research. I found that through the help of shoe clips and shoe bands you can create your own DIY designer shoes for way less! Check out the items you need to make these DIY designer shoes yours this holiday season (and save tons of money).

J. Crew (x2)

When it comes to bows and tartan J. Crew takes the cake. While I could’ve bought these shoes on sale during black Friday, I decided to save even more by creating my own. I’m in love with these pairs of tartan shoes they have out right now. I also adore that one of them is a pair of flats. So I took matters into my own hands and made a version of these flats for under $50 using shoe clips!

J. McLaughlin DIY Holiday Shoes

When I saw these shoes I could not get over how perfect they were for Christmas! I’ve been obsessed with mules lately because of how easy they are to slip on. Not to mention they are great shoes for any season. This shoe was probably the easiest to put together. You might already have a pair of black mules in your closet and just need the tartan bow to complete the look!

Gucci Gang

Honestly, these were the coolest pair of shoes to find items for. The Etsy shop that creates these shoe bands seriously does an amazing job creating Gucci looks for all you accessory needs. Grab a pair of pointed black pumps, add the shoe band and watch everyone ogle as you walk by. (Do they really have to know it’s not designer?)
