Happy first day of fall y’all! Have you started to enjoy your pumpkin spice everything? I have yet to purchase anything pumpkin flavored. But I did attend an Art Opening that served pumpkin ravioli. Talk about heaven. Anyways, I’ve been trying to think of Florida appropriate fall related post. We don’t have apple orchards, pumpkin patches won’t spring up until early October. If I hold a Starbucks cup with PSL written on it, does that make my content fall? It certainly doesn’t feel like it. I do however own a lot of maxi dresses which are great transition pieces, even in Florida! Why can’t a summer maxi be worn as a fall maxi dress?
Fall Maxi Dress
There’s a ton of different ways to wear a fall maxi dress, but the easiest is by adding a jacket. Last year I threw on a denim jacket over a dress and it was perfect. This year, I’m taking a more casual dress and adding a blazer to it to make it more elegant. I would even say you could wear it to the workplace…but that really all depends where you work.
I bought this dress back on my splurge at the Blue Door Boutique. It is seriously perfect for summer because of how flowy and open it is. I wasn’t sure it would work well as a fall maxi dress but I was proved wrong. Layering a blazer over this dress added the perfect barrier against the elements. Which is great…minus the fact that Florida is still enjoying the mid-80’s. Maybe in a few more weeks I’ll really be able to embrace this look. For now, I think it’ll still have to be a summer dress.
