Florida has been unseasonably chilly this winter. Or perhaps it is that Florida has been seasonably chilly. Though for Florida, it’s rather unseasonable. This has left me in a dilemma searching for things to wear that actually keep me warm and keep me looking polished. Easier said than done for a girl whose wardrobe is 75% dresses. And especially difficult when jeans are your least favorite thing to wear. Even more than pants and sweatpants. But sweatpants do not become a lady. I’ve relied heavily on my few pairs of jeans and even more so on my boots. Here’s the two outfits that I’ve found to be impeccable for Florida this winter.

Boyfriend Blazer
While I’m not usually one for oversized anything I’ve finally given the oversized boyfriend blazer a try. It wasn’t exactly and intentional but, but that’s a story for a different time. I struggled some when first trying to put together an outfit with this blazer. A mock neck plus the oversized blazer just felt suffocating on my frame. So I opted for a square neck top instead. While I could have used a belt to cinch my waist in the blazer, I didn’t feel that was staying true enough to the boyfriend look. Instead, I used a crossbody to keep the oversized look a little more contained. Overall, I’m very happy with the way the look turned out and I anticipate wearing it again if this weather keeps up.

Over The Knee Boots
Without a doubt, this is my go to Florida look year after year in winter. Especially on days that start off extra chilly and warm up throughout the day. In the mornings, I pair this look with a camel top coat. In the afternoons it’s easy to take the top coat off and give myself a little more room to breath. It may not be elaborate, but it still exudes simple elegance. (Yes, even over the knee boots can be elegant).
