I woke up on the fourth of July late in the morning (you know, because I’m still recovering from my Alaskan cruise a couple days ago). Within a few minutes of being awake I realized, I couldn’t decide what to wear as my 4th of July 2019 outfit! There are too many red, white & blue options in my closet for me to choose just one option to wear. Which is why I wore two outfits on the 4th of July. Both dresses that I wore for the fourth are actually children’s dresses. It was just more cost effective to shop in the kids section. And frankly, they have more red, white, and blue dress combos than adults.
4th of July 2019 Outfit #1
During the day I wore this short, open back dress. This dress is the children’s brand Cat & Jack brand from Target. I saw it the night before the 4th while shopping for sangria supplies. (Now that I’m typing it, it’s pretty funny that I ended buying a kids dress for myself while also buying wine). The bold stripes caught my eye as I walked by. Then I was sold when I saw that it had a bow on the back and was only $15. Let it be said, I only went into Target to buy sangria supplies. Clearly, that’s not how the whole night went down. Target has a way of doing that, don’t they?
Outfit #2
I showed off this dress a couple weeks ago when I was sharing some of my other 4th of July dress picks. This dress is also from the children’s section. I’ve seen it at a few stores including Belk, Macy’s, and Dillards. It is currently cheapest at Macy’s at under $25. If you are petite and a size 00-2, you should be able to fit just fine in a size 14-16 in this dress. One thing I’ve noticed about girls dresses though is that under the armpit, there’s usually a gap. I’m not entirely sure why this is. Especially considering most girls that shop in the children’s section have a smaller chest than adults. I suppose it will remain a mystery for now though. I’ve the adult version of this dress that would just be darling for a mother daughter duo as well.
