Our one year wedding anniversary has officially come and gone. In a blink of an eye and eternity all at once, we’ve been married for a whole year! (Plus, some change). It feels like the world pressures couples into planning big anniversary plans. More gifts, a big night out, and seemingly no time alone. We didn’t make elaborate plans to celebrate our one year anniversary. Choosing to have a night more intimate and spend quality time with each other. Our lives have always been “go, go, go”, even before we got married. So it was nice to take the evening to enjoy some of our favorite things and each other.
Celebrating a Night In
Like I said, our lives are pretty “go, go, go”. I started our anniversary morning with a run before getting ready for work. At work, I did more “running”, if you will, for a premiere of a new show debuting in the park. Michael was handed new responsibilities at work on our anniversary as well. We left work in the early afternoon and then headed to pick up our anniversary cake. By the time we got home, I think all either of us wanted to do was take a nap. Luckily it was still the afternoon so we had some time to recharge before the evening. Even better, we planned an evening in. We order sushi for takeout, popped a bottle of Moet, and enjoyed an at home picnic. Complete with Pitch Perfect and ending the evening with cake.
One Year Anniversary Dress & Photos
Truth be told, Michael and I don’t have a lot of photos together, other than our wedding photos. And the ones we do have are quick snaps from our family. We took the time this week to take some photos together as a way to celebrate our anniversary.
This gorgeous dress was gifted to me by AW Bridal. Though I may not be walking down the aisle, I will take any and every opportunity to dress like a bride again. And what better time to do so than celebrating our one year anniversary? Heck, I even put on my wedding dress again the week of our anniversary. (And as a surprise to no one, still loved it just as much as when I first tried it on).
AW Bridal Review
I chose a tea length dress from AW Bridal that was covered in sparkles. It would make the perfect reception dress or even bridal shower dress! And the best part is, the dresses don’t cost a fortune. Many of their dresses are under $500. At first I was a little worried that the price would mean lower quality materials and construction. But this dress was stunning in every aspect. From the Pearl details on the cape, to the construction of the bodice, and the layering of the skirt, the quality far exceeded my expectations. And the fit is great, running true to size. Note that it does ship from overseas and will have to pass through customs. The expected arrival date on their website was pretty spot on though. Budget for at least a month from placing your order to it arriving. If you’re interested in making a purchase from AW Bridal, you can use code Danielle10 for 10% off your order.
I know we’re not at that point yet but, I’ll definitely consider AW Bridal for a vow renewal dress. Five years is a good time to renew your vows, right? Or maybe even three? Either way, I’ll be counting down the days until our next anniversary and the next opportunity to wear this dress again. (Did someone say formal night on a cruise? I think so!)
