Spring Refresh – Repeating an Outfit

Funny enough, I think this color block dress was one of the first outfits I took photos of outside after the world shutdown. I remember being so scared that I was going to get in trouble for taking pictures outside my house. Granted no one was out other than people driving in cars. (Keep in mind, there wasn’t a stay at home order yet. I live in Florida). To this day I still love this dress, outfit, and photos that I took that day. But as it would have happened, my hard drive crashed and I lost all the photos. Which made this outfit repeat the perfect excuse for a spring refresh.

Refresh an Old Outfit for Spring

When I think of an outfit refresh, I think of it as another form of spring cleaning. Much like cleaning out your closets and cabinets in spring, cleaning out your wardrobe is another spring activity. I personally feel like I’ve gotten rid of quite a few things in my closet this year, but there’s still no room for my clothes. To help me from going on endless shopping sprees, I like to utilize what many bloggers are calling “shopping my closet”. This is when you take items from your closet and create a new or refreshed outfit with them. This way of thinking is not only good for our bank account but also the environment.

By working with clothes that you already have, you can help avoid what is deemed fast fashion. Which is trendy fashion that gets thrown out shortly after contributing to many problems within the fashion industry. So how did I refresh this color block dress? I used some of my other tips on how to avoid fast fashion to out this spring refresh together. These Nine West espadrilles I bought secondhand from Goodwill & are a nice touch to mimic the blue in the dress. This flamingo bag is also an all time favorite, know I’ll use until it disintegrates, Amazon find.
