Target just released one of their latest collaborations, the designer dress collection. This collection features designers such as LoveShackFancy, Cushnie, and my personal favorite, Marie Fernandez. Target Collaborations have been going on for years. From Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines to Hunter Boots. While some may complain that these collabs really don’t do anything for either companies, I beg to differ. The quality of clothing is held to the same designer standard. However, the styles offered through the collaborations are much more affordable for the everyday consumer. To me, that’s a win win, both for Target and collaborating brands & designers. The current designer dress collection is no different and I wanted to share my favorite items from it.
The Latest Target Collaborations
So I’ll be honest, I had never heard of any of these designers before they came to Target. I’m starting to realize just how small my knowledge of fashion designers is. But that’s ok and I’ll continue to learn. I just like what I like. If there’s only one item that I like from a designer, I won’t waste my time getting to know them better. Which isn’t a bad thing, it just limits my knowledge significantly.
Anyways, I’m thankful for Target collaborations because they help me learn about new designers that I otherwise wouldn’t even look at. Most designers that are outside my price range don’t even show up on my radar. I’d love to be able to afford every price range for clothing but that’s not the case. Now that Target is featuring these 3 designers at affordable prices I’ll be looking into (most of them) a lot more.
LoveShackFancy & Marie Fernandez
I am clearly drawn to these two brands in the designer dress collection the most for the sheer fact that they feature two of my favorite trends this summer. Florals & ric rac. The best part is they are all $60 or less. So very well within my “affordable” price range on average. Sadly, nothing from the Cushnie collection interested me. But if you’re looking to add a new slip dress to your wardrobe this summer this would be the collection to get it from!
