I don’t always post such scandalous looks but when I do, we know they’re worth anyones silly criticisms. For fall, I was looking for a velvet dress to wear and decided this rent would be a fun risk. I love a good form fitted dress but am not always crazy about a plunge neckline. (The itty bitty titty committee wants you to know that small chested girls have just as much of a struggle keeping things covered as our larger chest counterparts). But this dress exceeded all expectations in every way, shape, and form. Sure it looked nice on the screen, but on? It was something magical.

It’s not often that I fall completely head over heels with a dress right away. It usually takes a good amount of looking at myself in the dress to love it. That was not the case with this velvet dress. After putting it on I instantly knew I needed this dress. There’s just one problem. I literally have no where to wear it. I don’t go out clubbing, and I hardly go out to bars. As my fiancé put it, it’s a great New Years Eve dress. (AKA, the one night a year I go out). So as of now, I’m still debating on whether or not to actually buy it. (If you didn’t know, this was a Rent the Runway find).
Velvet Dress for Everyday
While I seriously love this velvet dress, it’s obviously not a wear every day anywhere type dress. There is a very specific time and place for this beauty (and work is certainly not one of them. I am not an accountant). But there are plenty of velvet dresses that are great for everyday. I’m sharing those that I could personally wear to work below. But don’t get discouraged, velvet dresses come in all shapes and sizes for all occasions. (Have you seen velvet bridesmaid dresses? Perfect for a fall or winter wedding!)
