Walt Disney World fans favorite event of the year is here! Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival. Visiting the Food & Wine Festival this year is sure to shine because it shared an opening day with Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios. The festival runs from August-November, making it Epcot’s longest international festival. I’m bringing you an inside look at the menu, freebies and more all happening at the 2019 Food & Wine Festival.
2019 Food & Wine Festival Menu
Disney keeps the menu fairly consistent year in and year out at the festival. You can still enjoy a Charcuterie cone in Italy, and filet mignon in Canada, but there are some new items that have been added this year! Click Here to View the Full Menu for the Festival. Keep reading for the most delectable food and wine!
Filet Mignon in Canada
This is a repeat menu item but so so worth it. The Le Cellier Steakhouse in Canada is esteemed for its steak and this stand is no different. Canada offers you a taste of this delectable filet Mignon at a fraction of the cost of the restaurant. This is an item you won’t want to miss. Buy one, buy two, maybe even buy 5 and stay on that Disney budget you set for yourself.
Warm Cheese in the Alps
This stand is new to me, and I couldn’t be more excited! Do I know anything about the Alps or the food they eat? Not a clue. I do know that I LOVE cheese and the warm Swiss cheese is exactly what a cheese lovers dreams are made of. If you’re like me, and could eat cheese the rest of your life, you won’t want to miss this one.
Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea and Chocolate Shake at the Chocolate Studio
Truth be told, I haven’t gotten around to this one yet, but trust me, it’s on my list. This drink combines just about everything I could ever ask for. I love Chai lattes, pumpkin spice and, well, chocolate! This drink will be either a hit or a miss. If it’s a miss, I won’t expect we’ll see it at another Food & Wine Festival. So far I’ve only heard amazing things so I’m ready to take my taste buds for a ride!
Kenyan Coffee Barbecue Beef Tenderloin from Africa
Africa was one of the booths I didn’t try anything from last Festival. Nothing really stood out or appealed to me. I can’t say that this year. All of the menu items there look so amazing. I had the beef tenderloin and it was perfect. Neither the coffee or the barbecue flavors are overwhelming, which really leaves room for the beef to shine.
Looking for Something out there? Try the Escargot.
I know, totally gross right? This was my first encounter with escargot, and I loved it. I cannot recommend it enough. The escargot can be found at the France booth and is wrapped in a buttered croissant roll. In all honesty, you almost miss the fact there’s even snail in there! If you’re feeling adventurous (or even a little hesitant) try it and tell me what you think!
Drinks at the Food & Wine Festival
Contrary to the festival title, there’s not just wine on the drink menu. Epcot always offers a variety of beers, ales, wines, and specialty drinks. Because they offer so much, it would be hard for me to go through every single one (not to mention pricey). So I will leave you with one little tip, drink what you like. If you don’t like wine, sipping it at Disney isn’t going to make it taste better. Don’t like ale? Then there’s no need to try one with fancy ingredients. There’s nothing wrong with liking what you like. Personally, I prefer beer, so that’s what I’m sticking with.
2019 Food & Wine Festival Merchandise
Everyone knows Disney has amazing merchandise. This year Disney has completely blown me away with their 2019 Food & Wine merch. I am seriously head over heels for this stuff! It’s so feminine and cute, clearly the perfect addition to my kitchen & ears collection. And guys don’t worry, it’s not all pink and flowers. Epcot’s mascot, Figment, flys into all the food and wine merch too. I’ve never been more excited for Festival merch (at least I don’t think).
Freebies (for Non-Passholders & Passholders)
This year, if you purchase the following 5 food items, you can redeem a free piece of cheesecake! And who doesn’t love cheesecake? (Rhetorical question, my boyfriend doesn’t). Personally I think this is an awesome offer! All the information for this offer can be found in the back of your festival passport as well. Visit Earth Eats, The Cheese Studio, the Alps, the Germany Marketplace, and Brazil to get all your stamps for this offer.
If you’re a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, you have 3 freebie offers that you can take advantage of during the festival. The first is a Minnie Mouse magnet which is offered from August 29-October 14. Second is a Remy magnet from Ratatouille. This magnet is offered from October 15-the last day of the festival on November 23. Finally, if you visit Epcot 4 times during the 2019 Food & Wine Festival, you can pick up coasters with the same Minnie Mouse as the magnet.
Last year, passholders could redeem similar offers, but instead of receiving coasters on the 4th visit, it was a cutting board with Mickey. I’m so excited to see what they will offer passholders next year!
