2021 Festival of the Arts at Epcot

Since Disney Worlds reopening the regular line-up of Festivals at Epcot have resumed. While we didn’t get to enjoy the full extend of the Flower & Garden Festival, all the others in 2020 were exceptional. One of my favorite festivals is back at Epcot now, the 2021 Festival of the Arts. I checked it out for the first time this weekend to see how they decided to run things with Covid. The Festival of the Arts is typically very hands on, and I’m glad to report 2021 is no different. The Festival runs from January 8 – February 22, 2021.

2021 Festival of the Arts Activities

The Festival of the Arts is the most interactive Epcot Festival by far. Creativity flows freely throughout the park during the Festival with a multitude of activities. Here are the most notable and how they are handling them this year with Covd-19.

  • Photo-Ops – Pose in famous works of art from around the world. These photo-ops are located throughout the world showcase and have socially distanced lines while waiting for your close up.
  • Paint by Numbers Mural – A staple of the Festival of the Arts is the mural all guest are invited to help paint. This year is is located just outside The Land. Wait in line to pick up your paint color and then enjoy painting part of the mural! Paint spots are socially distanced and you get to take home a bookmark souvenir of the finished mural!
  • Animation Academy – Learn how to draw your favorite Disney characters! Located at the America Gardens Theatre at 12:30pm & 1:30pm.
  • Earn Your Wings – Located throughout the park are also photo-ops with all different types of wings. Earn your Figment wings, Phoenix wings, and every other type of butterfly wing in between!

Festival Food

There is far too much food for me to try in one day. However I wanted to share the few things I have tried in the past and loved and the new things I tried this go around. Note: Not all of them were great.

  • Sushi Donut (Japan) – A fan favorite returns! If you love sushi, this is definitely the food for you.
  • Seafood Cocktail (Located Between Morocco & France) – This chilled seafood cocktail features octopus, shrimp, and scallops. Overall a good dish, however, I’d prefer it warm.
  • Lobster Poutine (Refreshment Port) – By far my favorite dish this year. If you like poutine and lobster you won’t want to miss this dish.
  • Brown Sugar Stuffed Pretzel with Banana Soft Serve (Refreshment Outpost) – Not my favorite. I would have much preferred the pretzel by itself and for it to gooey inside. It was neither. Definitely pass on this.
  • Blue Raspberry Blonde (Refreshment Outpost) – Not the worst thing I’ve ever tasted but certainly interesting. If you aren’t adventurous with drinks pass on this.
