Oh the Places You’ll Go

If you’ve read my bio you’ll know that I want to showcase the local side of living in Orlando. You’ll also know that I’ve spent many years of my life living in South Florida. At a time I was even considered a South Florida native so when I visit I tend to only go places that I grew up with. On my most recent visit I decided to shake things up and go somewhere new. Bookwise is a huge used bookstore in Boca Raton. They have everything from Harry Potter to signed first editions and my personal favorite, leather bound classics. It’s run by the most adorable little ladies and has been around for over a quarter of a century (can you imagine collecting books for over 25 years?! Sounds like a dream come true!). And would any used bookstore really be complete without a cat roaming around? It’s only open certain days of the week so if you’re planning on exploring I would be sure to double check on their Facebook page.

Something that I really struggle with in used bookstores (and sometimes even regular ones like Barnes & Noble) is that the books aren’t really organized. The romance novels are next to the history books, the alphabet is all out of wack, and I can never find the classics! Not at Bookwise. Every genre from sci-fi to math textbooks are clearly labeled AND put in alphabetical order by last name. This makes it super easy to locate a specific book if you’re looking for one (like my classic Brontë sisters!) I’m sure this system is no easy feat for those ladies who run the store but I really appreciate it as a customer. Whether you’re looking for your new favorite book or just looking to spice up your shelf life to the next level, this is the store to browse. Oh, did I mention I got 5 books for under$40? What a deal!
