A Day in Palm Beach, Florida

Y’all I can’t tell you how amazing it feels to be back in my old stomping grounds. Every time I visit South Florida I always get nostalgic and giddy. The water is bluer, the sun shines brighter, and I feel like I’m floating on air. Is that what home does to you? Just to recap, I was born and raised in Boynton Beach, just a short drive down 95 from Palm Beach. I lived there for 9 years before moving to Virginia but eventually settled in Florida again. (Just a little closer to Disney World this time 😉 ). I don’t know if I’ll ever move back down to South Florida but I do think it’d be nice to own one of the mansions on the intercostal of Palm Beach. It’ll probably never happen but, a girl can dream.

This weekend Michael and I attended one of his friends weddings in Fort Lauderdale. So I figured it would be the perfect time to take a day trip to Palm Beach and explore all the things I haven’t. After all, as a 9 year old I had very different interest than I do today. But at least I still love Disney with the same burning passion.

Palm Beach

Saturday in Palm Beach

There are many places on my list in Palm Beach that I’ve just never gotten around to. Typically a weekend to South Florida was spent in Boynton Beach, catching up with old friends or enjoying my favorite childhood foods. This time though, I wanted to change it up. Be a little more adventurous than I usually am. My two must do’s for Saturday was just seeing the Colony Hotel in all it’s pink beauty and visiting the first Lilly Pulitzer store on Worth Avenue. Both of which we achieved and even made a stop in West Palm Beach for my favorite farmers market on the planet.

The Colony Hotel

The Colony Hotel has been on my list of places to visit in Palm Beach for a very, very long time. I visit South Florida pretty regularly, and have never gotten around to the Colony. Even when I was going twice a month it never ended up happening. This weekend though I made a reservation for Swifty’s Pool, the in-house restaurant, for brunch. It was better than I could have dreamed. For a hotel that’s on the smaller side, it maximized all it’s space. It was Palm Beach vibes at it’s finest and I didn’t want to leave. The food was a little over priced in my opinion but it’s to be expected for Palm Beach. (It’s kind of like over priced food at Disney). Even though it was a little pricey, the food was absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend if you are about the Palm Beach lifestyle.

Lilly Pulitzer on Worth Ave.

I’m a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer, if you couldn’t tell. In all honesty, I wear Lilly much more to work than I do on the blog. When I do share, it’s usually about the After Party Sale because I know it’s not an affordable brand for everyone. Even though I buy my Lilly mostly secondhand or during a sale, it can still be a pretty penny. However, I do love Lilly and I knew that her flagship store was in Palm Beach, just around the corner from the Colony on Worth Ave. A short walk took us to the store and it was just as heavenly as I’ve seen in pictures. I didn’t spend too much time looking at the clothes compared to the decor. I also didn’t buy anything but just enjoyed taking it all in. If you’re a Lilly fan or just enjoy window shopping, walking down Worth Ave. is a must do.

West Palm Beach Green Market

I’ve given a full rundown of the Green Market before but it’s always worth mentioning when I go. Michael and I managed to slip into the Green Market for the last hour it was open. Our main mission was to pick up some fresh fish to bring home with us. (Mission accomplished!) Y’all, it was popping. We weren’t outside for more than an hour and I somehow got a sunburn even though I was in the shade. Of course, we also picked up a mimosa before we left. Things have changed a little at the Green Market since covid (like no bottomless mimosas) but overall it’s pretty much stayed the same with the same great vendors.
