Every year of my college career I went to Florida for Spring Break. This isn’t really saying much because my family lived in Florida, but it was great to bring my friends a long every year for the trip. While I would certainly say I know Orlando better than most other places in Florida, that doesn’t mean I don’t know some other killer spring break locations in Florida. Today I’m sharing just a few places inside the sunshine state that make awesome spring break getaways.
Top Spring Break Locations in Florida
South Beach, Florida
Probably one of the most famous and most popular spring break location in Florida. South Beach is one of Miami’s many gorgeous beaches. Located East of downtown Miami, South Beach boast a peninsula full of night life, culture, and fun. Besides being a great beach for spring break fun, the night life in Miami is one in a million. If you don’t consider yourself a real “spring breaker” don’t fret. The art deco architecture might just make you change your mind.
Key Largo
Located roughly an hour and a half from Miami is Key Largo. Key Largo is (can you believe) one of the many islands that make up the Florida Keys. These islands are connected by bridges all the way down to Key West. Besides being located in Florida Key Largo boasts it’s abundance of marine life and offers snorkeling, diving, and glass bottom boats to view it all. If you are looking for an adventurous spring break Key Largo is definitely the place to go.
Spring Break Locations in Florida – Orlando Attractions
What would a Florida spring break guide would be complete without Orlando in it? With over 3 different amusement parks, tons of outlet shopping and close to make a quick trip to the beach, Orlando cannot be beat. Whether you are looking to spend some time at the House of Mouse (Walt Disney World), or try your hand at defeating some dragons, Orlando is the prime spring break location in Florida.
Panama City
Panama City is known as the spring break capital. Let it be known that is the only reason that it’s made this list. Why is that you ask? Because I have a thing with the Panhandle of Florida. It tends to be much cooler than the rest of Florida is at any given time. To me the point of spring break is at least for some nice weather. 70 degrees or less just doesn’t cut it for me. And the average temperature range in Panama City during March is, you guessed it, between 50-70 degree. Pull out the parka!
