Blythe Bow Dress by Hill House

Just when you think Hill House has made all the silhouettes your heart desires, they drop the ultimate bow dress. Nell Diamond has been teasing the Blythe Bow Dress for months, and when Hill House did an exclusive sample drop, I pounced on the opportunity. I will say, I was worried as it’s been labeled as an “ultra mini” dress and I’ve been more into midis and maxis as of late. However, I own three other mini dresses from Hill House and they have been the perfect length. So while it was a gamble on just how mini the Blythe Bow Dress would be, it was a risk I was willing to take. (And, there was always the option to return). So how does this ultra mini ultra feminine dress hold up? Let me break it down for you.

Blythe Bow Dress Review

Length – Perfect. Especially since it’s a structured fabric, there’s no Marilyn Monroe moments. Just be sure to squat instead of the bend and snap when needed.

Quality – The fabric of the main dress is truly impeccable. It did have a bit of a smell to it when it first arrived, but I expect that of sample dresses that aren’t final production quality. One thing I do wish had more structure is the bows. The bows hold up very well but are more of a silk fabric, which I was not expecting. But if the bow holds it’s shape, does it really matter what fabric was used?

Sizing – I’ve found that many of the Hill House styles that aren’t smocked, tend to run small. This is also true of the Blythe Bow Dress. I recommend sizing up one size. I’m typically an XS in the Ellie and Ophelia, but purchased a S in the Blythe Bow Dress. It fits perfectly.

Price – This is on the pricer side when it comes to Hill House. At almost $300, it definitely put a dent in my budget. But compared to similar styles from bigger name brands, it’s really a steal. While I’ve had to put my clothing budget on the back burner in August, I’d do it all over again because this dress is what my dreams are made of.

Unfortunately, the Blythe Bow Dress is currently sold out. Fortunately, Nell Diamond has told us that there will be a lot more bow dresses in the future. I can’t wait to see this dress in more lengths, patterns and colors in the coming months and years! It has already become just as much of a staple in my closet as the Ellie Dress and I know I will be purchasing many more renditions of it in the future. In the meantime, keep your eye out for it to come back in stock, and follow along with me on social for the inside scoop!
