    Crop Sweater in Florida

A sweater? In Florida? It’s not everyday you see a grown adult in a sweater this time of year. Teenagers? Sure. You can find those whether it’s 60 or 90 outside. But the majority of Floridians wear sweaters at home and not out. With afternoons typically in the 80s right now, a sweater isn’t exactly the appropriate attire. In fact, when I wore this outfit the highs were in the 70s and I was still a bit warm. But it’s not enough to deter me from styling this crop sweater similarly in the future. Styling a Crop Sweater in the Cold If I was wearing this crop sweater anywhere else…

    Plaid Dress with Tie Straps

Plaid and tartan are the patterns of the holiday season. It’s everywhere from wrapping paper, to jackets, to socks. Whether you prefer classic plaid or a bit more holiday tartan, you can’t go wrong with these patterns. I’ve spent a bit of time looking for the perfect plaid or tartan dress. This year I found one through Nuuly to rent and I couldn’t be happier! Renting seasonal pieces has completely changed my fashion game (and my budget). I no longer worry about “will I wear this next holiday season? Is it worth buying?” because I can simply rent instead! It’s a great way to combat fast fashion and stick to…

    Thanksgiving Outfits for All Occasions

Everyone does Thanksgiving a little differently. Some have traditional Thanksgiving food like turkey and mashed potatoes. While others incorporate their culture into the day with a feast a little different. Some dinners are fancy and give you the opportunity to dress up. And others are relaxed and easy. But the main thing to remember is to be thankful for your friends, family, and blessings. If you have that, you don’t need a full table of the “traditional” Thanksgiving foods and special outfits. Regardless, it sure is fun to put together outfits that you can wear on Thanksgiving and stuff yourself full in. Here’s just a few Thanksgiving outfits that I’m…

    Knit Dress in White

Knit dresses have become a big thing the past few fall and winter seasons. The knit material makes the dress warmer than if it were made of cotton or silk, so it’s fitting for the colder seasons. However, warmer is not always better in Florida. While this fall season has been particularly cold, it’s better to be safe than sorry. A full knit dress with long sleeves wouldn’t bode very well in the afternoons here. But, adding a cropped shrug ensures an extra layer in the morning that you can shed later in the day. Holiday Red

There is no better color to wear for the holiday season than red. It’s perfect for Thanksgiving all the way through Valentine’s day! Whether it’s with a bold red lip, some red accessories or a red dress, this is the season to wear it all. So if you were thinking of adding some holiday red into your wardrobe now is the perfect time to do it. I picked up this red asymmetrical dress in my latest shipment from Nuuly. The bright…

Sequin Dress for the Holidays and New Year

As the holiday season gets closer, I like to dress a little more festively. To me, nothing is more festive for the holidays and New Year than a sequin dress. Whether it’s just a few sequins here and there or a million sequins all over the dress, you’re sure to shine during the holiday season! The really nice thing about wearing a sequin dress during the holidays vs other parts of the year is that, you still fit in with all the holiday cheer. So even if you aren’t looking to be the center of attention, you can still enjoy wearing a little sparkle. Disclosure: Some of the links in…

    Burnt Orange Utility Skirt

This burnt orange skirt is my go to for fall in Florida. Even though spooky season is over, fall is not. (Please put your Christmas trees away. The great pumpkin still lives!) I’ll still be wearing warm colors like burnt orange, reds, and browns through the rest of November. With the occasional bright summer color or warm winter color. I’m a firm believer that Halloween and fall do not get enough recognition. While I love the holiday season, it’s gonna have to wait it’s turn before I’m ready for it. Right now it’s still pumpkin spice, apple picking, and pumpkin patch season. Disclosure: Some of the links in this post…

    Leather Jacket Holy Grail

It’s finally time for this leather jacket to shine! I found it last year at Ross and ended up wearing it on my girls trip to Colorado last year. (Thank God too because I didn’t have another coat!) Since then though, it hasn’t had its proper moment on the blog. And it needs too. Not only did it do an amazing job at keeping this Florida girl warm in Colorado, but it was also a total steal at Ross! Now I don’t remember the exact number but, I think I paid almost $400 for this leather jacket. It’s Ralph Lauren and originally retailed for over $2000. Not to mention it…

    Sequin Pants for Holiday Lounging

Thanks to Nuuly, I’ve been able to take my wardrobe to a whole new level. Instead of spending money on expensive pieces that I only wear once, I now can rent 6 pieces for the same price as one! And once I’ve finished wearing them to my hearts content (or just taking pictures of outfits) I can send them back. It’s a win for the environment, my closet space, and my bank account. These sequin pants are one of those items. Plaid Coat

There’s not many times I’ll get to actually wear a coat. The occasional mornings (if I remember) and maybe one or two days throughout the year. But overall, I have no use for this plaid coat other than, it’s cute. Why even show it then right? Because even though I don’t live in a cold place, I’d like to live out my cold outfit dreams. Now that may mean sweating through my outfit in a matter of minutes, but at least I’ll be able to look back at the photos and smile. (And maybe even laugh at myself for wanting to get pictures so badly). Disclosure: Some of the links…
