Plaid Dress with Tie Straps

Plaid and tartan are the patterns of the holiday season. It’s everywhere from wrapping paper, to jackets, to socks. Whether you prefer classic plaid or a bit more holiday tartan, you can’t go wrong with these patterns. I’ve spent a bit of time looking for the perfect plaid or tartan dress. This year I found one through Nuuly to rent and I couldn’t be happier! Renting seasonal pieces has completely changed my fashion game (and my budget). I no longer worry about “will I wear this next holiday season? Is it worth buying?” because I can simply rent instead! It’s a great way to combat fast fashion and stick to a budget.

Plaid Midi Dress

While I usually prefer a good tartan pattern to plaid, I’ve really loved wearing this dress. When I ordered it in my monthly rental I was a bit skeptical at first. The model looked taller than me and I really wasn’t 100% sold on the pattern. But after wearing it a handful of times, I’ve really fallen for it. The fit is impeccable and the dress is lined in the softest fabric. It was thick, but not too thick. And the tie straps are just to die for. Honestly, tie straps are probably one of my favorite things on a dress for the bow detail you can make.

Another detail I love about this plaid midi is that it has a slit. A slit dress can be a dangerous game. Sometimes it’s a short slit that looks almost useless. Other times it’s way too high and can be a bit revealing when you sit down. But the slit on this dress was perfect. Not to short and not too long. Making it perfect to wear anywhere this holiday season.
