Selkie Brand – A Whimsical Journey

If you’re looking to live in a fairytale every day, look no further than getting ready with the brand Selkie. Selkies designs are whimsical and extravagant. You’ll be turning heads in their collection of show stopping designs. I recently had the opportunity to rent a few Selkie dresses with my Nuuly subscription. In doing so I got to experience the brand for the first time without going over budget or breaking the bank. (If you’re looking for the opportunity to do the same with designer brands, check out my post). Sweater Dress in a Classic Silhouette

Y’all, this sweater dress is hot. In multiple ways I might add. Not only is this short little number a stunner, but she’s also thick. Too thick, in fact, for most Florida days! But a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. And my “do ” was to get photos in this sweater dress. (Note – for the rest of fall and winter, I will continue to sweat to death for the sake of clothes. No pain, no gain they say). But in all seriousness, wearing this sweater dress wasn’t that bad. It was short enough and has a cut out in back that it could actually work well…

Wedding Blue and More Colors for the Bride

I’ve recently had some debates with my girlfriends on what the bride to be can wear. Nothing detrimental to any of my relationships but it got me thinking about all the do’s and don’ts that society has about a Bride during her engagement season, and even wedding day. It’s no doubt that society has told brides that they can only wear pure white on their wedding day. (And if you don’t wear white, what are you insinuating?) While this societal view has started to die-off a little, it is still there. Disclosure: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, meaning at no additional cost to you I…

    Printed Bomber Jacket in Pastel

Have you ever seen a clothing item so beautiful that you think to yourself “this isn’t to be worn, it’s a piece of art!”? that’s how I feel about this brocade bomber jacket. The detailing on it is truly amazing and should be framed if you ask me. This bomber jacket is fairly lightweight which makes it perfect for chiller fall mornings in Florida. (Which we have started to have thanks to a recent cold front!) It’s been a great item to rent from Nuuly. Even though it doesn’t have a ton of typical fall colors, it’s a great piece to transition out of summer into fall with. And out…

Tweed Dress from Gal Meets Glam

There is nothing more classic for fall than a tweed shift dress. There are so many different ways to style a tweed dress all throughout the colder months. With so many options, I’m sure you’ll never get bored of this wardrobe staple. I love that in Florida you can still get away with a sleeveless tweed dress in the 80 degree weather. It’s chic and classy but also appropriate for the season and weather. (Not just one or the other). As you can see, I didn’t even pair this dress with OTK boots, and it still screams fall. Rehearsal Dinner Dress Options

I am SO excited for today’s post. I’ve been ordering rental dresses over the last month to get a feel for what kind of rehearsal dinner dress I want to wear for my wedding. I know that it’s still 6 months away but, you can never start looking too soon, right? After all, what else am I supposed to be searching for? I already found the dress and my bachelorette dress. Besides, renting a few white dresses here and there never hurt nobody. While I’m still not 100% sure what I want to wear for the rehearsal dinner, I’ve had some pretty good luck with these rentals. Knit Skirt with a Slit

A knit skirt is something I’ve wanted to try for awhile but have never gotten around to purchasing. I’ve eyed them for at least a year and thought, there’s no way it would work well in Florida. Sweater material + heat and humidity don’t usually add up well. However, thanks to Nuuly, I’ve gotten to give them a chance. In a shocking turn of events, the knit sweater skirt proved to work very well in Florida. Even in the dead of summer. Layering with a Leather Dress

Don’t let the title mislead you. Though leather and layering create a cozy and warm effect, I was going for a minimum sweat, maximum fall look. While I didn’t exactly achieve the “minimum sweat” look, I do think this is a great fall outfit for anywhere it get’s under 80 degrees. (It was well into the 90s while taking these pictures and it was quite hot). A better option for this leather dress in Florida would probably be with no layers, but I wasn’t feeling it without it. That’s the price you pay for fashion though. (And a much better price than your feet dying in my opinion). Disclosure: Some…

Velvet Dress Worthy of the Club

I don’t always post such scandalous looks but when I do, we know they’re worth anyones silly criticisms. For fall, I was looking for a velvet dress to wear and decided this rent would be a fun risk. I love a good form fitted dress but am not always crazy about a plunge neckline. (The itty bitty titty committee wants you to know that small chested girls have just as much of a struggle keeping things covered as our larger chest counterparts). But this dress exceeded all expectations in every way, shape, and form. Sure it looked nice on the screen, but on? It was something magical. Disclosure: Some of…

Plaid Skirt for Fall and Autumn

The first thing that always comes to mind when I think about fall fashion is plaid. Plaid jackets, plaid pants, and plaid skirts are just a few fall items that I love. Though there’s plenty of other items that come in plaid this time of year as well. It’s always a struggle to dress for fall in Florida since it typically doesn’t get below 70. Though a challenge, I’ve fallen more in love with fall fashion since moving back down here. One of my all time favorite purchases has been a plaid mini skirt. It’s pretty perfect for Florida because of the length. Though it is on the thicker side…
