A sweater? In Florida? It’s not everyday you see a grown adult in a sweater this time of year. Teenagers? Sure. You can find those whether it’s 60 or 90 outside. But the majority of Floridians wear sweaters at home and not out. With afternoons typically in the 80s right now, a sweater isn’t exactly the appropriate attire. In fact, when I wore this outfit the highs were in the 70s and I was still a bit warm. But it’s not enough to deter me from styling this crop sweater similarly in the future.
Styling a Crop Sweater in the Cold
If I was wearing this crop sweater anywhere else other than Florida I’d undoubtedly wear it with jeans. In fact, this sweater was a must pack last year on my girls trip. It was freezing there. Even with jeans it wasn’t enough so I layered a black turtleneck underneath with my coat. Which was still too cold for me but as they say, the blood thins quickly. Obviously I wouldn’t wear this sweater the same way in Florida as in the cold anyways.
Warm Winters
I wasn’t intending on pairing this sweater with a skirt. But then I saw it hanging in my closet and thought “why not?” It looked much better than I thought it would and ended up wearing it the entire afternoon. Even though you can’t tell that the sweater is cropped because of the high waist, it’s still a great outfit for Florida.
