You all know that I love my denim jacket. Even in the summertime it goes with me to various locations. But the real time for the denim jacket to shine is in the fall and winter months. When autumn finally rolls around I wouldn’t be caught dead without a jean jacket in my closet. That’s because it pairs with, well, everything. It’s a great extra layer to add this time of year.

Even though Florida doesn’t experience the same fall and winter weather as other places, a jean jacket is an absolute staple right now. The mornings tend to be a lot cooler than in the afternoon, which means a layer is an essential part of your morning commute. (After all, when you live in Florida your blood is thin. Which means the heat is on in the car when it’s 60 degrees out!) If not for my denim jacket over my sundress that I’m still rocking (because it’ll be 80 in the afternoon) I’d freeze up like an iguana.
Denim Jackets are one of those items that can get a little bit pricey. Especially if you’re looking for one that is going to last you forever. I was lucky enough to have my first denim jacket handed down to me. It’s a Lauren Ralph Lauren denim jacket. As much as I love Ralph Lauren, I know how expensive it can be. That jacket has been on motorcycle rides, camping trips, and who knows what else. My grandma wore it everywhere. And it’s still in perfect condition. Denim Jacket Outfit Inspiration
I wanted to include some outfit inspo that I may not be able to provide personally right now. Like I said, I’m still wearing a sundress with my denim jacket. Which I’m assuming doesn’t bode well up north. In comes Pinterest to save the day! I’ve found a ton of inspiration on Pinterest for jean jackets this year. If I’m lucky, by the time December rolls around I’ll be able to create my own take on these Pinterest outfits. (My personal favorite right now is layering a jean jacket over a hoodie. It looks so comfortable & chic. But that’s probably the max I can push myself outside my comfort zone right now. Street style just isn’t really my thing).
