Y’all, I am SO extra excited for today’s post because it has a little bit of a surprise. I’ve really just been enjoying this phase of my life by not telling the world but I figured, this post would be a great place for me to start. If you don’t know from the photo, my last name does not start with an F. Currently it starts with a G. But that’s about to change because I’m Engaged! What better way to celebrate than trying out my new monogram on a straw tote? Or trying it out on anything for that matter. But regardless of your first, last, or middle name this monogram DIY is so much fun and for everyone. Let’s get to it.

DIY Monogram Straw Tote
This project is inspired by a Mark & Graham straw tote that you can customize to your liking. While I love pretty much everything on Mark & Graham, I don’t love the prices. The tote really isn’t that bad of a price, but when it comes down to it, I’d like to save the $40. (I mean, I have a wedding to save for now!) So I found a tote off of Amazon that comes in 4 different sizes and look so similar. I ended up picking the medium bag which was honestly larger than I was expecting. So if you aren’t looking to fit about 3 beach towels in your tote, I’d opt for a small.
To create the stripes I used painters tape so the lines would be clean and even. Be sure to leave a blank space for your monogram! Before I painted my new monogram on the tote I was sure to practice on a piece of paper. I tried a couple of styles, from script to type and decided to go with something more classic and clean. There will be plenty more opportunities for a script monogram in the future.
3 Easy Steps to this Personalized Tote
- Wipe your tote with a damp paper towel and let try.
- Use painters tape to create crisp lines with the paint. (Be sure to leave a space for your monogram!)
- Paint or use a stencil to create your monogram.
