December means pulling out the ugly Christmas sweaters and attending all the holiday parties. (Even if those parties are all virtual this year). I love me a good ugly Christmas sweater but you know what I love even more? A fair isle sweater. It’s the perfect not so ugly Christmas sweater.

I know I haven’t always loved Christmas sweaters. I also used to hate Christmas dresses. (There are very distinct memories in my head of both of these items being unbearably scratchy and uncomfortable. Little me did not approve). However, as I’ve gotten older (and the lining in clothing has gotten better) I’ve been excited to add them back into my wardrobe. When I first started getting into fair isle sweaters I had the problem of finding affordable ones. All the super cute sweaters seemed to be over $100. And they weren’t even cashmere. Not that I’ve seen a fair isle sweater I didn’t like. But sometimes you just want a classic red one for Christmas, ya know?
Fast forward a few years and I found my first fair isle cardigan in the perfect red! Then last year I found the softest sweater in the world from TJ Maxx. Needless to say, they are both perfect and I always look forward to the holiday season when I can add even more fair isle to my closet.

So Many Sweaters to Choose From
Something about 2020 has really been a game changer for a lot of retailers. So many clothing items are back in style and so many things are cheaper than I’ve ever seen them. (Ok, and when I say “something” I clearly know what it is). There are so many sweaters right now that I just need it’s crazy. Stupid Florida and it’s one day of winter.
