Fall Floral Ruffle Dress

There’s a common misconception that you can’t wear floral in fall. Fall is for plaids and check, and no other prints. While I love plaid as much as the next person, florals still have their place in fall. It’s just finding the right floral to wear. Here are a few tips for finding the perfect fall floral:

  1. Stick with warm colors – Try reds, oranges, and even yellows to keep a fall color palate!
  2. Choose a dark background – If you place your florals on a black or navy background it will feel more fall than on a lighter background.
  3. Add the right accessories – Match the warm tones of a floral or the dark background to match with your outfit.

Use these 3 tips to find the right floral to wear this fall!

Jill Stuart Fall Floral Dress

This Jill Stuart dress was rented from Rent the Runway and was my second piece rented from this designer. I was blown away by the first dress I rented, but was a little disappointed in this one. The ruffles didn’t sit right on my chest and felt a bit suffocating. I would have preferred to remove the ruffles because the rest of the dress was flawless. Maybe all it needed was a good steaming but I obviously didn’t get around to that. Regardless, Jill Stuart has definitely found how to perfect fall florals. Her prints are on a navy or black background and the florals incorporate warm tones. What more could you ask for in a floral dress for fall? (Sleeves, maybe sleeves for people up north). This print is also available in various other items like pants, and a few different dresses. All of which would be perfect fall staples.
