I originally shared this look in my Florida girl fall outfit round-up. I loved it way more than I originally intended so I decided I would share it again! A faux leather skirt is such a classic piece for fall and winter. Whether you decide to go with a mini or midi skirt, leather is a fabric built for cooler months. However great it is, it’s important to keep in mind, faux leather (being a skirt or something else) is typically not made to go in a washing machine. I unfortunately learned this the hard way after washing my midi faux leather skirt from last season…But lesson learned! And luckily I learned it before I tried washing this skirt too.

Pleated Faux Leather Skirt
Faux leather skirts that are pleated have been trending for the past few fall/winter seasons now. It wasn’t a trend I jumped on immediately, but I’m certainly glad I jumped on it eventually. I’ve always been wary of leather skirts because I’m afraid they might end up looking more stripper than chic. But of the few leather skirts I have in my lifetime they’ve always ended up being extremely chic. I suppose it just depends on how you style them in the end.
Sweaters & Skirts
The timeless combination of sweaters and skirts certainly adds some class and chic-ness to an outfit. When a sweater is paired with a pleated skirt I think this is especially true. I get the image in my mind of a housewife – pleated midi skirt with a collared blouse and a cardigan. That’s the type of fashion I drool over if I’m being honest. I think this leather skirt and sweater are a modern take on the classic housewife fashion. So we can still be the independent woman that we are but with the same fashion vibes.
