Shipping deadlines for gifts are quickly approaching. But what if I told you, there’s a great gift that requires no shipping? (Before the holidays that is). If you’ve been around, you know how much I’ve grown to love renting from Nuuly. I love it so much that I talk about it constantly. The question I get asked now about my outfits is “Are you renting that?” Instead of “Where did you get that?” Even with all the talk about renting from Nuuly, I’ve noticed not many of my friends are family are willing to take the plunge and sign up for a subscription. So why not give the gift of Nuuly to them this year?
It’s hard to take the plunge into something new, especially a monthly rental subscription, when you haven’t experienced it personally. Not to mention, if you don’t shop for clothes 24/7 (like me) you may not want to sign up for a subscription. This is why I thinking giving the gift of Nuuly this holiday season is a great alternative. For those on your list that don’t want to take the plunge because they don’t know how it works, it’s the perfect opportunity to have them experience it themselves first hand. (Without making the financial commitment). For those that don’t shop for clothes all the time, the gift of Nuuly is a fun one time way for them to spruce up their wardrobe.
How to Give the Gift of Nuuly
So how does gifting Nuuly work? It’s pretty simple, but there are some things to be aware of first. Nuuly partnered with Goody (a third-party gifting platform) to make gift giving easy. You can easy gift a month of Nuuly for someone who is already subscribed to Nuuly! All you need from the person you’re figuring Nuuly to is their name and email address. They’ll be sent a code for a 1, 2, or 3 month Nuuly subscription. It’s up to you (the gifter) to choose how long.
The recipient of the gift will have to create a Nuuly account to apply the code and redeem their months of Nuuly. It should be noted that the recipient will have to enter a card number to create the account. Just be sure to enter your subscription code when creating the account to not be charged for your gifted Nuuly. After the gifted Nuuly months are out, Nuuly will start charging the card on file. So please remember these tips, and remind the recipient as well, when gifting Nuuly.
- Remember to Apply the code sent to your email address.
- Return your Nuuly on time to get the most out of a multi-month subscription or to ensure you won’t be charged another month after gifting.
- Pause or Cancel your subscription after your gifted months have ended. If you don’t, the recipient will be charged for another month.
I plan to make a card with these steps and reminders for those that I’m gifting Nuuly to. I’ll also follow up with them to remind them to return their Nuuly & pause or cancel their subscription. The last thing I want a gift to do is rope someone into continuing a subscription they don’t want. This is my only qualm with the Nuuly gifting process. It should automatically unenroll or pause your subscription after a gift subscription has ended. I know the reasoning behind it, but think a better system could be put in place. Overall though, I’m excited to give the gift of Nuuly this year and hope those who receive it enjoy it too!
