Jean Jacket and a White Dress in Summer

I’ll be honest, when I think summer I don’t think jacket, sweater, or long sleeves. Which is funny because summer is when I use those things the most inside. I’ll bring a jacket or sweater with my virtually to every restaurant I go out to in the summer. It doesn’t matter that it’s 90+ degrees outside, when I’m inside I’m almost always cold. Which is why I think the perfect outfit combination for summer is a jean jacket and a white dress. You’ve heard of the classic LBD? A white dress is its equivalent in the summertime.

Finding the Perfect White Dress

Of the many items in my closet, a plain white dress doesn’t seem to be one of them. All my white dresses have some added flare to them. For example, all my white Lilly dresses and then my tassel back eyelet dress. Not exactly what I would classify as “plain”. I recently got rid of my most plain dresses and now that I’m making this post I’ve realized something. I don’t really like plain anyways. Clearly I prefer items that can hold their own. If it doesn’t have one element of flare, it’s pretty much dead to me. Which brings up this point, you don’t need something plain to pair it with other pieces. Obviously you can never go wrong with the “keep it simple stupid” method, but where’s the fun in that? I chose this jean jacket and white dress combo as my favorite.

Rest assured, I tried on my jacket with all of my white dresses. The reason I chose this white eyelet dress is because of the eyelets. Sure the tassels in the back are a great detail piece, but the eyelets keep this outfit fun when I have the jean jacket on too.
