Last Minute Halloween Costumes

As I’ve mentioned before, I love Halloween. The countdown is really on now for this sugar and scream filled night. Frankly, the countdown has been on since August. If you’re like me, you’ve either been planning a costume for months and went all out buying it and putting it together or you’ve completely neglected a “real” halloween costume and are scrambling to find something festive before trick or treaters show up at your door. I’ll be honest, as an adult it becomes harder to shop for a halloween costume. Especially when you type in “adult halloween costume” on Google and come up with some pretty risqué stuff… As an alternative I’m sharing some costumes that I put together from things I already have in my closet (and buying the occasional accessory). I hope these last minute Halloween costumes inspire you too!

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble!

You can never go wrong with dressing up as a witch on halloween! This costume is almost too easy to put together, but it’s a classic so I had to include it. I bought this sheer star dress a couple months back for a music festival and wasn’t sure that I would ever wear it again. But low and behold, it adds the perfect amount of sass to this witches outfit! Of course any black dress will do, just add a witches hat (and if you have a fitting broom) and your costume will be killer!

Roaring 20’s

I first dawned this flapper outfit during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween and have worn it a few more times throughout the “spooky season”. This outfit is easily achieved with any sparkly, feathery, fringy dress or skirt. You can even use a plain shift dress and play it up with a bunch of jewelry! A jeweled headband will really top of this look and have people thinking you’re straight out of the 1920’s!

As You Wish…

This costume will be having boys say “as you wish” all night long! Ok, not really, but they will think you’re a B.A. princess. This look is inspired by my all time favorite movie on the planet, The Princess Bride. There’s nothing more stunning than Princess Buttercup, and even just normal Buttercup. I chose to go with one of her simpler outfits, the red dress. I picked a red dress that had some sleeves on them, looped on a brown belt and put on some tall sandals. Of course any red dress will do and boots are probably closer to the actual costume but hey, it’s Florida and I’m hot! I’ve always dreamed of dressing up as Buttercup and I think this year is finally the year. Lets bring on the trick of treating!
