Layering with a Leather Dress

Don’t let the title mislead you. Though leather and layering create a cozy and warm effect, I was going for a minimum sweat, maximum fall look. While I didn’t exactly achieve the “minimum sweat” look, I do think this is a great fall outfit for anywhere it get’s under 80 degrees. (It was well into the 90s while taking these pictures and it was quite hot). A better option for this leather dress in Florida would probably be with no layers, but I wasn’t feeling it without it. That’s the price you pay for fashion though. (And a much better price than your feet dying in my opinion).

Had it been just a few degrees cooler or if there was a breeze I think this leather dress would have been more bearable to wear. Also switching out the boots for some flats or sneakers would have done wonders. (Boots are really good at doing their job and keeping your feet very warm). Overall though, this outfit came out exactly how I envisioned and that is pretty awesome.

Leather Pinafore Dress

A leather pinafore dress is a great fall staple. Especially so if you’re up north. What’s so appealing about them though is that they work well in most climates. (Just not blazing hot I found out). I love that you can layer them through fall and winter. That way you really get the maximum potential from them. Below are just a few great options at an affordable price. (Luckily I decided to rent this one. Unfortunately this is not an item I’ll be personally adding to my wardrobe. Just the nature of the Florida wardrobe game I suppose. Anyone seen a leather swimsuit?)
