Please move aside for a girls real best friend, block heels. (That’s right, it ain’t diamonds). No more buying into the lie that beauty is pain. (Though, life is pain…anyone who says differently is selling something). Block heels are the be all, end all, when it comes to fancy shoes. Ok, but seriously ladies, we do not have to be in pain to be beautiful! You don’t need the highest pair of stilettos, the tightest fitting dress, and to pluck your eyebrows to achieve beauty because, you already are beautiful. Read that again please. YOU. ARE. BEAUTIFUL.

I understand that we may not always want to wear our Converse with our dress (or in my case, Keds) and that’s ok. However it’s very rare to find a pair of heels that will actually be comfortable all day. When I discovered block heels, my world completely changed. I don’t know why but I used to think block heels were for like, old ladies. (And Gen Z will continue the argument that they are “chugey”. Which to me means classic). While I grew up thinking that only my mom and grandma should wear block heels, I’ve been proven wrong. They are so much more comfortable and stable than stilettos. (Which is probably why “older” ladies opt for them). I think what really did it for me was when I started to run more regularly. Foot and leg pain from heels plus running don’t go together well. Which is why I quickly feel in love with a classic chunky heel.
Block Heels Worth Investing In
I’ve since worn out my cheap block heels from Kohls. I wore them so often for so many occasions that they are literally run into the ground. Hands down, a block sandal is my favorite every occasion shoe. From work, to weddings, and even a night out for drinks. Since my cheap pair are no more, I’ve invested in a pair from Sarah Flint. They are rightfully named “The Perfect Block Sandal”. They come in 2 heel heights and all your basic colors. Nude is always my go to and I opted for the shorter pair. They are even more comfortable than my cheap pairs that fell apart. The Perfect Block Sandal even offers extra arch support and a wider toe box. Sarah Flint has offered me a special discount code if you’re looking to try them out! Just use code SARAHFLINT-BADANIELLEG for $50 off your first pair.
Admittedly, I try not to wear heels for very long still. A day max, but I usually only wear them for half a day. Which means I rarely wear them to work. A night out, a half day on the weekend, or headed to an event is mostly where you’ll see me in heels. Every other time though it’s either sneakers, flats, or sandals. (Don’t get me started on the absolute perfection of the Sarah Flint Natalie flats either. I could rave for hours!) Block heels are still great though and I can last much longer in them than a traditional heel.
