If I’m being honest, the only time I really feel comfortable showing off my stomach, is when I’m running in just a sports bra (and even then it’s not every time). But this preppy summer crop top with a gingham print and bows is an exception. Here’s the thing, I don’t hate cropped tops, especially with a good high waist (so retro). I hate having the fear of judgement for wearing a cropped top. But, you know, I’m working on it. I’m working on me and not caring what other people think about my body or my outfit or whatever. If you’ve already gotten to that point, more power to ya. My small step towards that goal is by wearing cropped tops that are so cute, I forget I’m even wearing one.
Preppy Gingham Summer Crop Top
There’s a few things I love about this top. You know, besides the fact that it’s gingham and has bows. This crop top uses a shirred fabric, meaning it’s basically an elastic band. I was cautious when going to purchase this too because I was afraid it would be too cropped. I want cropped, not a bra for a shirt. Because of the shirred fabric, it has the ability to stretch in just about any direction, so the length ended up not being a problem. Another great thing about this preppy summer crop top, the price. It’s under $10.
I can’t wait to wear this top in more ways. I think next time a nice high waisted pair of pants or shorts, or maybe with a bikini bottom if I’m getting real crazy.
Accessories
I just had to take a second and talk about my sunnies and my earrings. First of all, I love love love these earrings. They’re lightweight and the palms are perfect to take any summer outfit to the next level! They’re from SheIn, which really has some great jewelry for cheap.
Secondly, my sweet boyfriend (who makes me want to barf) bought these RayBans for my birthday. I had been looking for a quality pair of sunglasses for awhile because my cheap, knock off pairs of Clubmasters kept falling apart or leaving a weird green residue on my face. And yes, I did say pairs. I have two knock offs that I wore constantly. Now I’m glad to say I no longer have knock offs but the real thing. It was an investment I was going to make myself soon, but ended up not having to pay out of my pocket.
