Red, White, and Blue – 4th of July 2018

It was the Fourth of July, you and I were, you and I were fire…fireworks, that went off too soon. This is totally how I feel about it being July already. I just can’t believe how fast this year is going (before we know it it’ll be Christmas again!) There’s something so prideful about walking around in red, white, and blue today. Not to mention, with this color combo the outfit possibilities are endless. Today I personally went with this little number. I was looking for something more casual than a 4th of July dress that way I wouldn’t be uncomfortable sitting outside for a few hours. This combo was the perfect thing. The cotton top makes it easy to move (and stuff yourself full of all the backyard BBQ classics) while this skort ensures I won’t have any unladylike wardrobe malfunctions while watching the fireworks.

Skorts 101

I remember a time when I thought skorts were childish and completely unsophisticated, I’m so glad I’ve put those incorrect assumptions behind me. Skorts are probably the most ingenious invention on the planet! They are just as stylish as skirts (most times you can’t even tell the difference) but allow for so much more freedom. I scored this whole outfit from my favorite resale app Poshmark. It’s a great place to hunt for amazing deals (I get so much of my Lilly Pulitzer from there, like this skort!) and is completely free to download. If you haven’t checked it out yet I would totally sign up for it, and if you use the code DandyDanielle you’ll get $5 in Poshmark credits to spend on whatever you want! Happy 4th and stay boomin’!

I personally wore red, white, and blue all week long at work. Did you?
