How to Shop TJ Maxx Online
All my friends and I know and love to shop at T.J. Maxx but not many people know you can shop T.J. Maxx Online. I’m not exactly sure when T.J. Maxx started letting you shop online but it is fairly recently (within the last few years) which is why I believe not a lot of people know about it. Shopping online at TJ Maxx is a lot like shopping in stores, it’s the thrill of the hunt! TJ Maxx has never “revealed” the brands that it sells in their stores (meaning they never confirm or deny it).
The same goes for online, you can’t shop “by brand”, only by “style” (meaning if you search for Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, Free People, Sail to Sable, etc. online they will tell you no results.) You have to search page by page to find these brands, but there are ways to find things that can make online shopping easier. TJ Maxx Shopping Tips
Shop a section and narrow down the selection by size
Viewing items that are only available in your size does two things. One, it shortens your list of how many pages you have to look through (because there are hundreds). And two, it keeps you from falling in love with an item that doesn’t come in your size. I can’t tell you how many times I have done this while shopping (both in stores and online) and end up heartbroken because it doesn’t come in your size. (Yes, it is possible to be heartbroken over clothes).
Shop the Runway
If you know a certain brand is in the TJ Maxx Runway section, go directly to that section online. I love using this trick to narrow down brands that I love (especially Kate Spade)!
Shop In-Store Items Online
If there was an item in stores that you liked but it didn’t come in your size try checking online. Or if you’re like me and like to walk away from things and then end up regretting it, this option is great. It’s easier to search too for items that you already know about. The more you describe the items (color, print, style, etc.) the easier it is to narrow down.
A quick example, I tried on this Sail to Sable tunic dress (dressing room picture below) in stores and decided to walk away from it. Fast forward a week and I couldn’t stop looking at the dressing room picture I took. So I went online and typed in “Striped Tunic Dress” and had about a page or two of results. Low and behold there was the dress! I’m so glad I bought it (even if it was the second go around).
Don’t Only Shop Online
Going off of the tip above, don’t rely on the online site for everything. If you love something in stores your best bet is to buy it because there is no guarantee you’ll be able to find it online.
Shipping Cost
Odds are you’ll probably have to pay for shipping. Occasionally they’ll have a free shipping code (if you create a new account or spend over a certain amount) but it requires you to spend quite a good amount of money. This is another thing to keep in mind when debating if you should buy something or leave it at the store and find it online.
