There’s many aspects of my wedding that I’d consider non-traditional. At the same time, I’d still consider myself a traditional bride. I suppose this fits as I’ve never been one that is super trendy. Though I indulge in trends from time to time, I always come back to my fashion roots. This goes for everyday fashion as well as bridal fashion. And it’s no different when it comes to bridal accessories. In fact, I’d say the most traditional aspect of my wedding will be how I accessorize. Particularly with my rings and earrings.

Traditional Pearl Wedding Earrings
I’ve gone back and forth for months now over what earrings I wanted to wear for my wedding day. I love a good statement earring and am head over heels for Nicola Bathie’s entire earring collection. But the more I looked at them the more I felt they weren’t traditional enough for my wedding. I kept finding myself go back to my roots, pearls. (I’ve heard it said that your wedding isn’t a time to try something new. This goes for just about anything. Hairstyles, makeup, and accessories. You want to be comfortable).
There’s really nothing more traditional than a pearl stud earring. And while I do love my studs with my wedding look, I did want something a little out of my norm. So I opted for a pearl drop earring with paving instead. It goes perfectly and the paving and yellow gold match my rings. While it’s not my everyday studs, it still is within my comfort range and I couldn’t be happier with the decision.
Trendy Wedding Earrings
Just because I’m not a trendsetter doesn’t mean that you aren’t. Over the past couple years I’ve really fallen in love with statement earrings. (The only thing holding me back from wearing them more is because most of them aren’t coated in gold. I learned a long time ago that my ears are sensitive and pretty much reject anything but gold. So while I can wear non gold earrings for a short period of time, a day will kill me). However, that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a statement earring! Below are a few that were on my list for wedding earrings.
