New year, new fashion trends, right? I read a lot about trends that we’re dead or dying with 2018, but I think I’ll beg to differ. Maybe it’s the fact that I live in Orlando, which has a diverse population, both tourist and locals, but I’ve come to realize that you’re always going to have people on board with old and new trends. Today I’m going over some of my favorite fashion trends that I hope to see continue in 2019 (and will continue if I have anything to say about it).
Millennial Pink / Rose Gold
Pick your poison when it comes to these two blush colored trends. For the longest time I was not aware of either trend. But now I can’t imagine life without them. With Disney’s 2018 release of millennial pink spirit jerseys and ears I wouldn’t expect these two colors to be going anywhere anytime soon. Now the “experts” seem to be saying that millennial pink is long gone and rose gold may be seeing the same demise soon. And what color trend do they say will be replacing these two pink classics? Gen Z Yellow. Look here “gen z”. Us millennials waited a very long time for all of us to grow up and reach our 20’s before we got any kind of trend named after us. So just go ahead and take the back seat for the next 17 years or so, all right? Here are some of my favorite rose gold and millennial pink items out right now, including my birthday dress that I love.
Gingham
This classic print is seen mostly in the summertime, but in Florida it’s always summer. Gingham, I feel, reached an all new height in popularity this summer. It was the first time I felt like I could even wear something gingham without being labeled as a “farm girl”. This was largely helped by Lilly Pulitzer releasing a gingham print and many other fashion bloggers jumping on board. I just hope the gingham train continues on the up and not backwards towards hicksville.
Chunky Heel
Who said fashion trends are always bad for you? The come back of the chunky heel has been every style lovers biggest blessing. Stilettos will always be in, but all too often I see the comfortable shoe go in and out of style. I’m tired of always sacrificing my comfort for style, which is why every fashionista should invest in chunky heels. Trust me, your feet will thank you.
Novelty Bags
Handbags are a great way to make an otherwise typical outfit extra fun. One of the many reasons that I love Kate Spade is because they design amazing novelty bags that are also super classy. One thing that can keep people away from Kate Spade though, the price. Fortunately, novelty handbags are becoming more and more popular, which means they are starting to become cheaper (especially on sites like Amazon!) A fun bag can play up any outfit.

I’m a huge fan of rose gold and millennial pink! I hope neither of those go away anytime soon. Novelty purses are so fun, too. I love all the double-takes I get with my Kate Spade flamingo bag. 🙂

So jealous that you have a Kate Spade Flamingo bag! I’ll have to keep my eye out for one of those second-hand.
