Wearing Gingham Pants to Work

News Flash! I love gingham. I’m sure you already knew that from my gingham midi skirt and gingham jumpsuit, but I wanted to make sure. Compared to those two outfits, these gingham pants are much more subdued. Non-the-less, they are perfect for work or for a stroll around town. They are so comfortable and have the perfect amount of stretch to them. I even wore them on my cruise to Alaska, they were that comfy. What better time to bring out the navy patterned pants than in fall, right? I mean, yeah it’s still over 80 degrees but I’m sick of not being fall. So here’s my attempt.

Gingham Pants at Work

Never in a million years did I think I would hate wearing pants to work, yet here we are. Jean days and activity days (aka days you can’t wear a skirt) are some of my most dreaded work days in history. In summer these days aren’t so bad because I can opt for a fun romper. However, in fall and winter that changes. Que my hatred of pants. My biggest problem with pants and jeans are that they really aren’t comfortable. I don’t like the way they are constantly touching every part of my leg. It feels odd most of the time. These pants however feel more like athleisure than work pants and jeans. Clearly I can get behind that.

Since buying these pants I look forward to fall and winter just because I can wear them. Besides comfort, they are one of my favorite prints and even incorporate the cutest ruffle detailing. I typically pair these gingham pants with a white top and navy blazer for an extra professional look. Though occasionally I’ll get crazy and pair it with a bright pink blouse, just to keep people on their toes.

Shopping for Comfortable Work Pants

Since I don’t like wearing pants I’ve never found it easy to shop for them. A lot of people have a store that they buy their work pants from but it doesn’t work that way for me. Well, not exactly. I have to say that most all my work pants are purchased from TJ Maxx, but are all different brands. These gingham pants for instance are Cynthia Rowley. I own a pair of polka dot pants that are from Talbots and then I’ve bought one pair from Old Navy. The point is, I don’t go in looking for that brand when it comes to pants. Whatever is comfortable and flattering is what I buy.
