This past week, I traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for a friends wedding. I’ve never been to Charleston before but have seen enough online to know about its vibrant colors and culture. Between Rainbow Row and the blossoming flowers it was hard to not be influenced when making my outfit choices. It was also requested that guests wear pastels or bright colors for the wedding, which further solidified what I’m calling my Charleston color palette. With almost 5 full days getting to explore this stunning city, I was able to fit in a lot of color and pastels. Here’s everything I wore for a trip in late April.

What I Wore in Charleston in Spring
Being that it was late April, it was getting pretty warm in Charleston. However, I’m from Florida so the heat and humidity was no where near what it is further south. I don’t think the high got past 80 and the lows didn’t dip past 60. So overall, the spring was very mild and easy to dress for.
Day One // Travel & Welcome Party
We decided to make the roughly 5 1/2 hour drive from Orlando to Charleston. On my bucket list of things to do in Charleston, was visit the Hill House store downtown. What better travel outfit than a Nap Dress? The ultimate combination of comfort and style.

After a quick stop at the Hill House store and a stop at the VRBO to change, we headed back down town for a welcome party. I chose a vibrant floral cocktail dress for the occasion and saved my more formal look for the wedding the next day. I wish I had snapped a few more photos in it, because it was stunning.

Day Two // Rainbow Row & Wedding
When researching what to do in Charleston, Rainbow Row was on everyone’s list of recommendations. Who was I (who packed rainbows to wear) to deny myself a trip to see this colorful block? I rented this purple applique skirt just for the occasion.

Purple Floral Skirt // White Top
After a few hours exploring the French Quarter of Charleston, it was time to get ready for the wedding. I re-rented a dress I loved and knew would be perfect for the occasion. A blue and green pastel floral number.

And shoutout to the rest of the Radford fam for dresssing in bright colors all day with me too.

Day Three // Meetings & Charleston Market
Unfortunately, this trip was taken during the week. Fortunately, I was able to work from home for the majority of it. After a morning meeting and a quick drop off at the airport for half our party, we explored the historic Charleston Market. I (of course) purchased a mug to commemorate the trip.

Day Four // Magnolia Plantation
Another item on my list to see while in Charleston was Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. These gardens boast being in bloom all year round. Keeping with the theme, I wore florals and pastels in a more casual every day dress. It was a great day full of blooms, lots of important history and even animal encounters.

Day Five // French Huguenot Church & Travel
Our final day we checked out of our Vrbo and headed to breakfast downtown once again. While we had seen most everything on my list during our previous four days, there was still one more tourist spot I wanted to see, the French Huguenot Church. I wore my newest pink Hill House dress for the occasion. Because I, of course, had to match! After one final stroll around the French Quarter, it was time to make the trip back to Orlando. But rest assured, Charleston is high on my list of places to go back to. And hopefully soon.
