Supposedly the weather is taking a turn for fall here in Florida. Key Word: Supposedly. While the mornings and evenings are chilly, mid-day highs are still in the upper 80’s and sometimes the low 90’s. But seeing as we’re about halfway through October I figured it’s time I try and make an effort at switching my wardrobe from summer to fall. Even if it is just with a few bags, colors, and accessories. So today I’m sharing my top 5 must have fall essentials for 2019, Florida style.
5 Fall Essentials for 2019
Trench Coat or Utility Jacket
I think it goes without saying that fall was made for all the jackets. My favorite for this time of year are long trenches and utility jackets. And lets not forget a good motto jacket, whether it be suede or leather.
Utility & Cargo Skirts
The more industrial the better! Fall to me is all about being brooding and edgy. From fall colors like warm reds, oranges, and yellows, to loading up on pockets. Utility skirts combine the best of both worlds.
All the Leather
One of my favorite fabrics ever is leather. I’ve never gone all Sally from Grease before, but I sure would love to. (Maybe I’ll try that out as a Halloween Costume this year). I’m really into leather skirts this year over any other leather item. Leather embodies everything about fall to me. And not to mention you look like a total BA when you wear it.
Cord Bib Dress
Nothing quite screams fall (spooky season pun intended) like corduroy. This thick & soft fabric is great for layering over summer pieces or with a jacket. Combine the corduroy with the bib dress that is trending right now and you have the perfect fall outfit. I went into my younger sisters closet and borrowed a few of her crazy cute outfits that I featured in my back to school outfit post. It’s great having a sister who is the same size as you and has great fashion sense.
Animal Print
Would it even be fall without every animal print ever? My favorite print for fall is leopard because of it’s warm browns and hints of orange. Pair it under a corduroy dress and top it off with a leather hat and you couldn’t be more perfect for fall. There’s always a subtle way to add animal print to your fall outfits.
Autumn Fashion Trends of 2019
The above aren’t just essentials for a fall wardrobe, but also totally embody the fall fashion trends of this year. Just because I live in Florida doesn’t mean I don’t recognize the importance of sweaters and layers. I just don’t get to wear them until winter or at a nighttime bonfire. So, I wanted to share some more fall items that I’m loving.
