Banana Leaf Dress and Tropical Accessories

It’s time to bring out an old summer favorite of mine. This banana leaf dress has been in my wardrobe now for 2 years. I remember the day that it arrived at my house and trying it on immediately. The length and “tent” silhouette make this dress perfect for summer. I’ve worn it multiple times as a cover up to the beach and pool. On the cruise to the Bahamas that I took a couple years ago I wore it for an at sea day. This year I wanted to try getting a little fancier with it. After all, the more ways you can style a single item the bigger your closet gets.

The Perfect Pair: Banana Leaf & Flamingos

I first started thinking about styling this banana leaf dress in a new way when I purchased this flamingo bucket bag. Like seriously, what is more perfect together than a palm print and flamingos? Of course there is one thing that could be more perfect. Banana leaf, flamingos, and pineapples! This outfit is a true Florida girls dream. For a half second I almost paired this outfit with Florida embroidered Jack Rogers. Then I remembered I had something even better, pineapple sandals! Not just one pair of pineapple sandals, but two. It was such a dilemma to pick between the two but you can obviously see which pair I went with.

This outfit was made for someone looking to create their own tropical paradise. No matter where you live, whether it be Florida or somewhere further north, you can make your own sunshine. There’s no better time to practice creating it than in the summer. Throughout the summer dress like you’re in your personal paradise. Create your own sunshine from the inside through the way you dress, activities you do, and time spent reflecting (just like the sun does on the moon).
