Eye Catching Activewear for the New Year

This years Christmas included many activewear gifts. The new year is when many people start fitness and health goals. 2021 is no different. Motivation is high right after the holidays. The collective knowledge that many other people are trying to get in shape is inspiring. Whether you are trying to get more in shape this year or eat healthier, it can be hard to keep up the motivation. Life is busy after all and these things take time. I have particularly found it hard to find the motivation when there are no in-person races to run. But our luck when it comes to fitness motivation may have changed in 2021.

Activewear as Motivation

I have two main motivation sources when it comes to my diet and fitness. The most helpful is having a race to train for. However, there’s another motivation that I think is common among almost all people. That is: reward. How you like to reward yourself may differ from me. But I like to buy new activewear when I’ve achieved a fitness goal or am about to tackle another. I distinctly remember when I first started to do this in college. It started by telling myself I’ll buy the workout pants, if I go to the gym everyday. Then it turned into, I’ll buy the cross trainers when I can squat my weight. (Lol, one time guys. That’ll probably never happen again). Since then those have been great forms of motivation. If I get new shoes, or a new sports bra, or whatever piece of activewear, I’ll usually dive head first into training.

Shiny & New Activewear

I got not one, but two new pairs of running shoes for Christmas. While I haven’t been sticking to the training plan exactly since Christmas, they have motivated me to go out and run when I really didn’t want to. So it shows that they do something for me. When I went to Target recently I also saw some weights and activewear that I thought was so chic. So of course, I need to share it with y’all too! Though you may know I’m 100% brand loyal when it comes to activewear, I might be making a limited selection to branch out this year.
