Fall Wedding

This past weekend I finally got to attend the fall wedding that I was dress shopping for a few weeks back. The wedding was for a sorority sister and she is just the cutest, most precious person I have met on the planet. Long story short, she married her high school sweetheart and they are just so perfect for each other! In true southwest Virginia in the fall style, it took place at Doe Creek Farms and had the cutest pumpkin and twinkle light decor. It could not have been more fitting for this beautiful bride.

This was the first wedding I have attended in a very long time (probably almost 10 years) so I didn’t exactly remember how these things go. It has certainly been a very long time since I attended a wedding that I wasn’t invited to because I was with my parents. This isn’t to say the weddings that I attended weren’t beautiful, I just didn’t feel as connected to the bride or the groom as much as my parents did. When it came to what I was expecting emotionally for this wedding I certainly had no idea. I knew I would be so so happy but I didn’t think I would have to hold back the happy tears for such a beautiful wholesome moment. Seeing her face when her dad walked her down the aisle and she saw her now husband had me choking back tears. I know I am 100% not ready for another wedding and I will probably ball my eyes out like a baby at the next one I’m going to this spring.

Because it was her day I didn’t want to take too many pictures of my outfit so I just snapped a few quick ones during cocktail hour. For the record, I am so happy I went with the long sleeve dress. The weather could have been a lot worse but my thinned out Floridian blood could hardly handle it, especially when there was a gust of wind. The dress is the only thing I bought new for the wedding as the clutch and the shoes were bought secondhand from Poshmark. I’m honestly so happy with how this outfit turned out. The good news is, the other two dresses I bought are perfect for Florida falls and I can wear them in the quickly decreasing temperatures in Orlando. (I’m praying this 70 degree weather is just something that traveled back with me from Virginia for a couple of days, because I am not about it).
