Floral Sheath Dress

Among the many items that I rent from Rent the Runway are work dresses. I love the flexibility it offers to change up my work wardrobe to match the seasons and particular trends. While I don’t think work is the place to try out new fashion trends, it’s ok to add some fun into the mix. This floral sheath dress is a great option for summers at the office.

Unfortunately, summer break is a thing of the past as an adult. I was lucky enough to have parents that could take a lot of the summer off. My mom was a teacher, so the times she did work over the summer, there was camp going on that she could drop by at. While those expectations for summer break have long been diminished, I still want it to feel like summer break in the office. I think one of the best ways to do that, is dressing for it. (Highly recommend not showing up to the office in a bikini though).

This floral sheath dress caught my eye because of the fun print that I thought would be perfect for summer. It is made of a scuba material that I have a love/hate relationship with. Like the name implies, it feels like wearing a scuba suit. The material is thick, which I don’t enjoy during the summer. I much prefer a linen or linen blend for summer work clothes. But this dress worked just fine for a day of sitting in the office and not having to go outside.

I enjoyed renting this dress immensely, and I would consider buying a floral sheath dress for keeps. It is a classic work style and florals are great all year round in Florida. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorites that I’d consider spending the money on. This dress was lovely, but I think I’d prefer a shorter hem for my petite height.
