For as long as I can remember my grandmother has bought me an ornament for Christmas. She’ll bring over the Hallmark catalog and have us circle our pick and then Santa puts it under the tree. After officially living in Florida for a full year again, I wanted to round up ornaments that reflect all the things I love about it. I also found some chic and trendy ornaments that I just thought were too perfect not to share.
Tips for Saving Money on Christmas Ornaments
I love having the perfect Christmas ornaments on the tree every year, but it pays to wait. I know it is tempting to buy all the Christmas ornaments as soon as the department stores put them out. Right after Halloween or Thanksgiving is not the best time to buy ornaments though. The best time is after Christmas and the New Year. This is when they’ll be on sale the most, and there’s nothing wrong with saving money. A quick example of this is for one of my all time favorite ornaments. Lilly Pulitzer has their after party sale twice a year, one of which lands after the holidays. This is the time to shop for their Christmas ornament from the previous year because it is on major sale. Another great way to shop for your perfect ornament, whether it’s Florida themed or not, is to shop at stores like T.J. Maxx, Ross, Home Goods, and the like. This year while shopping at T.J. Maxx, I found the Vineyard Vines Ornament from 2017. It was such a great find!
Tips for Finding Your Perfect Florida Christmas Ornament
The perfect Christmas ornament will be different for everyone. This year my perfect ornaments revolved around being Florida themed. While searching generically on Google will turn up some pretty good results, the more specific in your ornament search the better. My favorite “Florida themes” are flamingos, pineapples, and palm trees. So, I searched specifically for ornaments to do with those themes. I also searched brands that I think really encompass what it means to be Floridian (i.e. Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, etc.) Whether you’re a Floridian or Bostonian, these are great ways to find your perfect Christmas ornament.
