Girls Trip to Denver Colorado

Y’all I had the best girls trip to Denver this past weekend! It was so good to see all my girls again and enjoy so much real talk together. While the rise of Covid in the area kind of put a damper on our plans, we still got to enjoy each other’s company and the great outdoors. (All while practicing safety measures of course. Christmas is right around the corner you know). Here’s a few of my favorite things that we did while in Colorado!

Girls Trip Weekend Line-Up

Alright so technically we didn’t stay in Denver for our girls trip. We stayed a little further west in Dillon. Which was perfect because it was close to a lot of outdoor activities that we could still participate in safely with Covid. However, we stopped for lunch in Denver before we drove to Dillon. Both area’s are currently in the “Red” phase of Covid re-opening due to new spikes in the virus. So all dining was take-out or outside eating only. Luckily there were two heaters at the table we ate at.

Milk Market

I was so excited for Milk Market because of the raving reviews I had heard. Not to mention, there was such a great variety of food to choose from. I honestly had so much trouble picking. Did I want seafood? Ramen? Salad? Ugh it was so hard to choose. I ended up going with ramen and it was delicious (and warm).

Girls Trip

Sleigh Ride

Never in my life did I ever think I’d be going on a sleigh ride in December around Christmas. It was like being in Santa Claus 2 (but better). All sleigh rides come with complimentary hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps’ if you’re over 21. It may have been cold but the snow that accompanied the entire weekend made it worth it.. 10/10 must do.

Girls Trip

Swiss Haven

This was a must do for one of my girls (and why would I ever say no?). Swiss Haven is a fondue restaurant and you know I was drooling over it all. I was honestly most excited for the French Onion Soup and of course I forgot to order it. Oh well. The warm cheese and chocolate was exactly what the doctor ordered. Especially when I was having a hard time adjusting to the cold and having to eat outside, it was amazing.

Snow Tubing

So I’ll be honest, I’ve never really been a fan of snow activities. Sure when I first moved to Virginia, sledding was a complete novelty. But after a year or two that quickly went away. My parents tried to rekindle it with tubing but that was just not doing it for me. (Teenage moodiness?) I’ll admit, a few minutes of sledding I still found enjoyable growing up but the cold bothered me more than the fun I was having. This trip has changed that. Maybe it’s because I know it’s not something I’ll be doing a lot of. Maybe it was because I was with friends and not family. Whatever the case, that new snow tubing place opening in Central Florida, I’m going to have to check out.
